Chemical-free wastewater treatment. ETPs and STPs that run without daily chemical dosing. Lower running cost, and no chemical sludge.

The hidden cost of chemical treatment
- A chemical bill that never stops — coagulants, flocculants, lime and acid, every month
- Chemical sludge: bulky, smelly, and a disposal bill every time it leaves your site
- Storage and handling of acids, alkalis and powders on your site
- Results that drift whenever dosing is off or an operator is absent
Chemical dosing vs chemical-free
| Chemical-dependent ETP | WWAP chemical-free design | |
| Chemical cost | Continuous, every month | Minimal or none |
| Sludge | Chemical sludge, extra volume | Pure biological sludge only |
| Sludge disposal | Transported and paid for | Dried on sludge beds, near-zero cost |
| Sludge reuse | None | Can be used as manure |
| Smell | Pungent chemical sludge odour | No pungent smell |
| Operation | Daily dose checks and adjustment | Simpler daily routine |
| On-site storage | Acids, alkalis and coagulants | Little or none |
| Treated water | Extra salts (TDS) added by dosing | No salts added by treatment |
| Performance depends on | Correct dosing every single day | Plant design |
Sludge you can use, not pay to get rid of No chemicals in the plant means no chemical sludge.
Chemical sludge
- Bulky, because the chemicals add their own solids
- Leaves a pungent smell around the plant
- Has to be transported and paid for every time
- No further use
WWAP biological sludge
- Pure biological sludge, no chemicals in it
- No pungent smell
- Dried on simple sludge beds, so disposal cost is almost zero
- Can be used as manure
When chemicals can’t be avoided We’ll tell you upfront.
Some effluents — heavy metals from electroplating, strong colour from dyeing, extreme pH — need a chemical step. When yours does, we limit dosing to the one stage that needs it and size it to the minimum.
Chemical-free first means we never add dosing out of habit. It does not mean pretending every effluent is the same.

Questions
Does chemical-free treatment meet CPCB / SPCB norms?
Yes, for effluents such as dairy, food and sewage. We confirm it against your effluent analysis before committing to a design.
What happens to the sludge?
A chemical-free plant produces only biological sludge. It is dried on sludge beds, has no pungent smell, and can be used as manure, so disposal costs almost nothing.
Is a chemical-free plant more expensive to build?
Build cost is usually similar, sometimes slightly higher. The saving comes every month, in chemicals you no longer buy and chemical sludge you no longer pay to dispose of.
Can you convert my existing chemical-dosing ETP?
Often, yes. We review your chemical consumption and outlet results, then upgrade the plant so dosing can be reduced or stopped.
Is every effluent suitable?
No. Heavy metals, strong dye colour and extreme pH usually need a chemical step. When that is the case we say so upfront and limit dosing to that one stage.
