Industries / Oil & solvent extraction

Edible oil and solvent extraction effluent treatment. ETPs for solvent extraction (solvex) plants, oil mills and edible oil refineries.

Circular clarifier being built at an effluent treatment plant

What makes oil & solvent extraction effluent difficult

Oil and grease

Free and emulsified oil from refining, washing and spills coats tanks and chokes biological treatment.

Acidic refinery streams

Acid water from refining has very low pH and very high COD, and can upset the whole plant.

Many streams, different rates

Process water, washings, boiler and cooling tower blowdown all arrive in different volumes and strengths.

What you get

  • Site audit and effluent analysis before any design
  • Process design and DPR sized to your flow and board discharge norms
  • Clarifiers and MGF + ACF filters supplied by us
  • Installation supervision by our engineers
  • Commissioning by our engineers, guaranteed to work at the agreed design flow and load
  • Board queries answered by us: any pollution control board question about our design or equipment

Questions

Our ETP can’t cope with the acid water from the refinery. Can you fix it?

Usually. Acid water is the strongest stream in most refineries. We check how it is collected and balanced, and fix the stages that are overloaded instead of rebuilding the plant.

Can treated water be reused in the plant?

Yes, for cooling tower make-up and floor washing after tertiary filtration, which cuts fresh-water intake.

Do you work with both solvent extraction plants and refineries?

Yes. We design ETPs for standalone solvex plants, oil mills, refineries and integrated units that do all three.
